The Bolsheviks ultimately became the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. The Bolsheviks, or Reds, came to power in Russia during the October Revolution phase of the 1917 Russian Revolution, and founded the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic.

Bank director Olof Aschberg, patronized bronze bust created by Carl Fagerberg in 1925. Aschberg was a leftist sympathizer and helped finance the Bolsheviks during the Russian Revolution.
