Happy new year

He looks like a superhero, maybe a bored one, lol. Love it.  By the way, i recently learned that my best friend from high school (also taught me to drive, went to Paris with me,  still my friend decades later) was diagnosed with lyvanthropy..it's blowing my mind what she is telling me about what it does to her. Never did I suspect knowing someone with this condition although i have noticed a mental change in her over the last 5-10 years. It frightens her family and herself....it is real for her and she never knows when it will happen. Luckily it isnt often but it is regular, more than once a year. Its not going away. She says it always starts with uncontrollable "howling"  and feeling non human, yikes. So what would a foremost lycanthropolohist have to say about it? I looked up "lycanthropologist" and google sent me to the urban dictionary, lol. And P.S. I love your NC work here! And ! Sorry for such a long msg here but your profile information was fascinating to me. 

I really do have a scholarly interest in werewolves in addition to a werewolf persona. (You can check it out on YouTube -- "Ask Dr. Wolfman.") I am really sorry about your friend. Lycanthropy is not, strictly speaking, a thing of fiction. It is a real psychological condition that requires professional treatment, which I hope your friend can get. Lycanthropy, of course, comes up a lot in werewolf fiction and lore, but it also afflicts real people in real ways. I wish her -- and you -- the best. 

Oh yea, i know it is a real thing. If I didn't before I do now. My sweet friend is still herself in so many ways, very caring and always kind and I think I am her only friend. I couldnt imagine abandoning her. Hard to be much service to her, however, as she lives in a big city and I in the country as a caregiver. I've spoken to her during the holidays. Thank you for replying, I'm actually very happy to meet you. Oh! And yes, my friend has been under psychiatric care for about 20 years, she has not improved to be honest. I discovered years ago that she is also a hoarder, her problems seem monumental to me, frankly.
