Well, it all depends on the cheese wheels diameter, which you don't specify. However, judging from the half wheel he has in his hands, it seems like a fair barter to me 馃槑 ! (I would add that it also depends on the cheese smell, considering the absence of any fridge, but we have no clues on this)
Turnip actually goes very well with cheese, you are devaluing the worth of both items by seperating them in this 'made for TV' sensationalised family fodder

Totally unrealistic! How wrote this history channel drivel? Those are summer turnips and wouldn't last a month before going soft and withered or soft and rotten. That's not the real turnips grown by every true European. You weak-livered Americans call them rutabagas - the real yellow-fleshed winter turnip that will last till spring, stored in a properly made root cellar. The turnips you show here are good as a quick summer crop where both roots and leaves are great to fatten up your pigs before slaughtering in late fall. Don't want any skinny pigs!
Another thing. Look at that kid. Both him and his clothes are too clean. I bet he doesn't even have dirt under short and broken nails!
