Back in the olden days a good friend would often leave part of his self behind if the evening's conversations weren't quite concluded...

Disembodied legs were a commonly-left occurrence upon many a stoop, porch or outbuilding. I often wondered how the rest of the aforementioned good friend managed to get home that evening. Perhaps there was a special taxi-service that could come and collect the part you were taking home and return you at a later date to reconnect with the rest of yourself? I wonder if they gave a discount because you weren't the full person...or maybe they charged extra because they'd have had to carry you upstairs to bed, and tuck you in and all, what with you having left your legs elsewhere...
