Their kiss was trembling, breathless, and urgent — the kind that carried both relief and fear. Elin pressed closer, feeling the danger around them intensify her desire. Jonas’s lips were roughened by worry and determination; she felt the heat of him, grounding her amidst chaos.
Elin: “I didn’t think I could feel this.” Jonas: “We don’t choose when it comes.”
Part VII — Rescue
Night fell. Jonas’s team stormed the compound. Bullets cracked. Guards shouted.
Elin, chained, lifted her head when she heard his voice. Elin: “Jonas?” Jonas: “I promised.”
He cut her chains. Relief and desperation pulled them together. Their hands brushed, fingers locking. The warmth of him against the cold metal of her chains made her shiver.
