personally, I am not too fond of religeous symbols? by and large, call me atheist?
that being said, while I may be detached from that line of thought and feel, I cannot disagree with how it comes into place here:
the cave does for a very tranquil, sublime background, the dove and cross, even though if hanging down a bit statically, have meaning to the scene depicted? his expression is convincing and serene. a man changed, evolved, assured, maybe reborn...
other than that, discarding that meaning it reminds me of an more or less average action/horror flick: underworld: bloodwars; the MC Celene, after dying, more or less, being reborn/saved in a cave and pool looking just like this ...
that also was a scene a bit sublime? if in a different context ...
