Beans on toast

Thank you all SO MUCH for playing in our Community Cookbook Challenge! There will be a 3rd edition coming in a few weeks which will focus on Holiday Party Recipes! So, dig out your grandma's recipes, dust off your old cookbooks, or do a deep dive of the interwebs for crowd pleasing favorites. Allrecipes.com is a great resource, or you might try searching for "homemade Christmas candies" "No bake holiday desserts" or "savory party appetizers". In the meantime, I'll think of a few other games to get our creative gears going and please feel free to suggest any ideas you may have. I am sure this was my #2. I love the simplicity of it, and I've never been to the UK, but hear it's a UK staple! I must know if you ever use different kinds of beans or if it's only one kind of beans that they have there. What makes UK Beans on Toast so great?

One time I was in the UK for a connecting flight that was on strike. So they flew us to every airport in the UK. At one point I'm starving and we're in a super small airport that's also closed off from the rest. We're vegetarian and I ran around trying to find anything to eat. I was so excited when I came back with beans on toast and my wife just stared at me like I was nuts and went back to sleep...

We had almost this exact thing two days ago. Except replace the toast with a salad-hamburger. Because I had bunless burger and beans. But Boston baked beans are the BEST! 🥰
