Angel Botello

Ángel Botello was a Spanish-Puerto Rican painter, sculptor and graphic artist who was known for his use of bold colors and depictions of island life. He was dubbed “The Caribbean Gauguin” for his resemblance to the French post-impressionist painter Paul Gauguin. Botello worked in various media, such as oil paintings, drawings, printmaking, bronze sculptures, wood carving, photography and mosaics.
