Luck be a lady tonight

Luck so elusive a force to be called upon, a throw of dice, a near miss, a problem that averted early could have been a catastrophe, a chance encounter that leads to something truly marvelous and astounding.

Fervent prayers in foxholes are perhaps a similar muse to this invisible force we call upon in hope and desperation. Who can say what forces too grand and subtle to dowse, categorize, quantify and measure are turning the screws upon their silent engines behind the facade of our lives.

The earth turns it's seeming smooth revolutions about the sun, the sun races through the Milky way like a bullet, the whole planetary system like an atomic nucleus in an inconceivable vastness, and all of it perhaps no more than a tiny particle in some greater conceptualization of being.

Anyhow, the days have their trials and tribulations, we make our gains, weather our losses, we cannot stray too long our thoughts into the unfathomable. Luck be with you.
