The storm swept over the city with unnatural speed and ferocity, a deluge of rain falling from the ominous dark clouds.
From the other quarters, districts and palisades of the great metropolis of Velome, the lurid orange glow of flames subsided, replaced by riding clouds of smoke, ash and steam.
People slowly began to emerge, ducking back into shelter as battalions of soldiers headed for Palisade North, where the devastation was centered.
The collapse of the Grand Deharme Cathedral was like an earthquake, voices raised in renewed terror about the metropolis.
The rain subsided, in the flashes of lightning, the people could make out two figures clashing, a single person against a dragon!
Fascination overcame terror for many and the crowds began to shuffle closer.
