285/ The Source

That which was stolen from us so long ago is not from this world, Mee, daughter of Hathor. It is the pinnacle of Nilian ingenuity. Our finest minds built a machine which is connected to our invincible evening sun Atum from which all arose. Once charged, it supplies power for milennia, allowing us to power our civilization for aeons to come.

After our journey to your planet, its capacitators had been drained. Horus, the great schemer, had devised a plan that would use your tiny sun to recharge the source and send a signal home.

This was when Akhenaten rallied against us. Our children threw us in a dark hole and left us to rot. They stole our source and their new ruler used it for his lecherous adventures.

When we finally had freed ourselves, we sensed that the source had gone. Without it, our craft would be stranded on this planet for all eternity.

After years of searching, glorious Bastet finally picked up a trail that led us to pursue a certain Peter Flinders.
