That drained my credits, haha. Back to start, almost... Not at all what I originally envisioned, but I am content with this one.

Screenplay writer Tom Mankiewicz was well ahead of his time. As Sean Connery had returned as Bond in 1971, but said "never again" after that, Mankiewicz decided to reveal him as resurrected and thus supernatural. Something not happening with a formerly real life hero character in similar fashion til John Wick decades later. 

Although this scene was deleted for being too outlandish after the first film critics had seen it, this vision of resurrection and subsequent re-destruction by the chains from hell was to become the major theme of another movie franchise 14 years later. Chosing Betty Page for the prototype cenobite to do the hellish work was another forecast, as she had been long forgotten in the early 70s and only gained cult status in the 80s and 90s.
