The spring breeze ruffled Clara's hair as she stared down at the bustling cafe below. A pang of bitterness echoed in her heart. Today, a latte was transformed into a fresh dew in her hand. Karen, the "always right" customer, threw a tantrum.
"It's supposed to be hot and creamy!" Karen shrieked, brandishing the nonexistent beverage. "This is outrageous!"
"It wasn't my fault there was a dimensional rift in the milk frother!" she'd argued, voice cracking.
Karen scoffed. "Reality? I want my latte, or I'm calling corporate!"
The manager, a stoic woman with a bun like a steel knot, had simply sighed. "Reality glitches happen, Clara. But not customer meltdowns."
Clara's shoulders slumped. Fired. Just like that, her barista dreams evaporated faster than a spilled latte. A tear escaped, tracing a cold path down her cheek.
