Ingredients:

• 3 cups coarse semolina
• 1 cup white sugar
• 1 cup vegetable oil
• 10g baking powder
• 2 eggs
• Warm milk (for moisten)

Instructions:

• Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the semolina, sugar, vegetable oil, baking powder, and eggs.
• Moisten Mixture: Gradually add warm milk to the dry ingredients until you achieve a slightly runny, sticky consistency.
• Bake: Pour the mixture into a greased baking pan and bake at 180°C (350°F) for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.

Syrup Ingredients:

• 2 cups water
• 1 cup sugar
• 1 slice of lemon

Instructions:

• In a saucepan, combine water, sugar, and lemon slice.
• Bring to a boil and let it simmer for 3 minutes.
• Pour the hot syrup over the basbousa as soon as it comes out of the oven.
