Who could blame them??
They were NOT funny, ever!
They just sowed unfunny mayhem in every town they performed in.
Luckily, the municipality had a tiny police car and was ready for the three ring night of chaos.
Two clowns had their outrageous red wigs blown off and one received a bullet straight through his plasticine chin.
No official arrests were made, but the point was taken and the hooligan clowns kept to a strict diet of seltzer and saltpeter until they got out of state.
AND, the crowd was thoroughly entertained...

Interestingly enough, clowns are not painted up or wearing wigs. What you see is a result of inbreeding and atrocious diet. In Shakespearian lit, clowns were eccentrics, possibly a bit daft and irrelevant, but the transformation hadn't taken place yet.
Clowns and coppers both = enemies of the people. Clowns also enemies of comedians! 🤦
Ugh. Clowns. You ever notice how so many of them ride in one car? And they always leave a smear of greasepaint on the seats at Denny’s. I’ve got no use for ‘em.
