Despite the chaos, the alien did not retaliate. Instead, it extended a tentacle, holding what appeared to be a holographic message. Harper hesitated, then took the device. As the alien retreated, they realized it was seeking peace, not war, on Xylaron.
Their mission, and their perspective on the universe, forever changed.
