Hootling

Lore & Behavior: Hootlings are nocturnal scavengers, often seen in abandoned villages or near forgotten shrines. Though small, their presence is said to foreshadow mysterious disappearances, as they are known to silently observe travelers before leading them astray. Hootlings are mostly passive but become dangerously cunning if threatened, using their staff to tap rhythmic patterns that are believed to hypnotize prey. Legends say Hootlings are the remnants of spirits who refused to pass on, trapped between the mortal realm and the spirit world, feeding off fear and disorientation.
