On or around Jan 14-Jan 15, 1947, 22-year-old Elizabeth Short was infamously murdered, her washed and bisected body discovered in the morning hours in a vacant Los Angeles lot. The press posthumously (and erroneously) dubbed her by the totally mythical moniker, "The Black Dahlia". January 2025 marks the 78th anniversary of her unsolved, and very brutal, murder.
A stunning, hyperrealistic portrait of a young woman in a classic 1940s Hollywood style, set against a colorful backdrop of a Los Angeles tavern in 1947. The subject's piercing blue eyes and bright red lips are highlighted in dramatic lighting, creating a captivating and nostalgic atmosphere.
