Unsurprisingly, I forgot my lines, and my mind went totally blank. In my panic, I blurted out:
"There was a fox who wanted to eat some grapes but couldn't reach them. So, it assumed the grapes were sour. But the fox practiced day and night, finally reached the grapes, and realized they were the sweetest grapes ever."
Yep, I told a botched version of "The Fox and the Grapes." The audience stared, probably wondering what happened to the mongoose. I was so embarrassed that I wanted to cover my face with something. The moment was awkward for three whole minutes until the anchor finally said, "Good try, young lady." For weeks, I felt like a walking punchline. My friend asked me about it, and I could only muster an awkward smile.
Moral: : If you're new to the stage, don't look at the audience. Most students aren't even paying attention; they're just happy to miss class.
This image shows a young girl on stage giving a speech, with an audience in the background. The artwork is rendered in an impressionistic style using thick brushstrokes and vibrant watercolor gouache on canvas.

β€ Relatable, I had to do a "rap" in front of an audience for a music class back in elementary school, it went terribly. I've never willingly spoken on stage again. π
That's a beautiful story ππ» and hats off to your confidence π«‘ you just rocked it buddy π
