An image from a novel i worked a bit on years ago, it didnt get far but this is a scene from it. Ahzay is a sort of drow inspired elf, the bigger badder cousins of the drow one may say. They are devoted to a goddess Azhathe, and they are solitary creatures. They basically only meet to mate, and have a very strange culture. They are a bit like tigers. Ahzay is a warrior and very proud, also extremely lethal. Nianh is a human girl who was enrolled in the army, just to save her life from starvation. She has one weird trait, horses hate her, they will attack her or run away, and this is very odd indeed. Ahzay decide to protect her and one may say that it is beyond odd for she is no warrior at all. Here she crawled into some bushes to look for food and got her hair full of burrs, he has to aid her getting rid of them. Yet another lesson to learn.
