Oh my gosh…this is almost exactly what I pictured when I read about R’lyeh in Ruthanna Emrys’ stories about the Deep Ones. (Her stories make some of the aspects of the Lovecraft universe beautiful. Others are still shocking but R’lyeh was one that became very alluring.)
