Pact With Immortal Blades

A swordmaster that gain near immortality through his divine sword arts, blessed by the gods of war from several pantheon. His mortal mind has grown weary from the endless centuries of battle, that he has endured due to each of his patrons, forcing life back into him each time old age or exhaustion on the battlefield would bring his life to an end. Finally, he made a vow to these gods that if they allowed his soul to rest, he would pass down his sword arts to the weapons he forged from blessed metals. These "ghost" swords would possess their wielders with a desire to train and wage war above all else. Each blade would channel devotion to one of the wargods, so in exchange for his rest, they would each being granted a series of champions who could be determined at random or chosen by the gods themselves. The gods agreed, the pact was sealed, and the swords now travel the world sparking devotion to wargods and endless battles.
