The Recipe

The blender illustrates how generative AI models are trained. To create an image model, developers feed the algorithm with vast datasets containing paintings, sculptures, drawings, and photographs, usually collected from the internet or digital archives. The AI does not store these images directly. Instead, it processes them during training to adjust the internal parameters of a neural network.

Through this process, the model learns statistical patterns—such as how certain colors, shapes, or styles tend to appear together. Once training is complete, the AI can generate entirely new images based on these learned patterns, without retrieving or copying any single work from the dataset.

The result is not a literal reproduction, but a synthetic creation shaped by the correlations the model has absorbed from all the training data.
