_Misa Amane (弥 海砂)_ is a model and actress. She  becomes the Second Kira after gaining the second death note and accompanied by a Shinigami (Rem).

As a child, Misa witnessed the brutal murder of her parents by a burglar. This traumatic experience left her filled with grief, anger, and a strong desire for revenge.

A Shinigami named Gelus fell in love with Misa's liveliness and intervened to save her from a stalker by killing him with his Death Note. However, according to Shinigami rules, Gelus died in the process. Another shinigami gave Gelus's death note to Misa.

Misa used the Death Note to kill criminals, hoping to find her parents' murderer. When Light Yagami emerged as Kira, Misa saw him as her savior, someone fulfilling her own desire for vengeance.
