Georg Dionysius Ehret

Georg Dionysius Ehret (1708 – 1770) was a German botanical illustrator, who became one of the most influential figures in the field during the 18th century. His art style is characterised by meticulous attention to detail and scientific accuracy, capturing the intricate structures of plants with precision. Ehret primarily used watercolours and pen-and-ink on paper, employing a technique that involved careful observation and detailed rendering, which contributed to the advancement of botanical knowledge in his time.
