His younger brother William was away in Bisia’oia Av’alata kingdom of the Ice Queen Ariawyn, a long-time acquaintance of the family. He was busy filling out some paperwork regarding a dragon being slayed in an outlying village somewhere to the east and the request for more guards to be dispatched for merchants traveling in the area. Soon, the clock tower chimes the hour, revealing it to be ten in the morning. As if on cue as soon as the bell's dull chime stops a kettle upon the stove in the neighboring room begins to whistle. As he enters the hallway, a knock comes from his front door. He opens the door to find his squire Thorstin. "Thorstin, it's a Saturday. Shouldn't you be meeting for tea with your friends about now?" Zigfried questions as he invites his young friend into his home.

"I would be, but Queen Theresa told me to fetch you for something important she said it was something she'd rather not be delivered through magic channels, and she wouldn't give me much detail," Thorstin tells Zigfried as the older man leads him into the kitchen, where he pours the hot tea from the kettle into cups before pulling a flask from his pocket which gets him a disapproving glance from his young companion Zigfried sighs and puts it away. "Oh really?" "Yes, she says it had something to do with a ship and sixteen years ago." Thorstin relays. Zigfried's calm and stoic demeanor all but shatter for a moment. "The Saint's Tear..." the flask that Zigfried had previously put away returning once again to his hand, his young compatriot skipping the judgemental glance hearing the tone of his mentor's voice.
