This is a series dedicated to Greek myth and here is a depiction of the death of Heracles (known as Hercules to the Romans), whose tragic death is legendary. He was given a tunic soaked in the blood of the centaur Nessus, whom Heracles himself had slain with an arrow dipped in poison from the Hydra. This poison was thus now on the tunic and it was lethal to any mortal. However, since Heracles had divine blood in him, Zeus being his father, he could not die easily. He arranged a funeral pyre to burn himself to death more quickly and Zeus, taking pity on his son, consumed him with a great bolt of lightning. This series is dedicated to @Diomedes @POP-WIZARD and @G_1981
