One storm-night a desperate man stole her crescent stamp and forged an oath to deliver his daughter to the Sisters of the Gilded Veil. The vow took, the girl vanished, the man died, and Cyran’s mother began to fade from reality, losing voice, memory, then existence. In grief Cyran branded the crescent onto his own wrist and woke to a moon-ledger in his mind: names, debts, broken oaths. He tracked the Sisters in a traveling theatre, but the vow twisted and the girl disappeared again. His Soulknife gift bloomed into moon-glass blades that can cut oath-threads free. Now he roams as the Moon-Loan Collector, reclaiming broken promises, binding debts to those who benefited, or carrying them himself when justice has nowhere else to live.
