The Joystealer is a medium fey creature typically aligned as neutral evil. They are known for their incorporeal nature, allowing them to move through objects and evade many forms of attack. These creatures can sense emotions within 60 feet, akin to blindsense, which enables them to detect living beings nearby.

Joystealers drain the emotions of their victims through an incorporeal touch attack that deals Charisma damage. Once a target's Charisma is reduced to zero, the Joystealer can completely drain the target's emotions, rendering them immune to morale effects, rage, and other emotion-driven abilities. This effect can only be reversed by destroying the Joystealer or through specific spells like remove curse within a hallowed area
