Hey Onion @Onion3D I added your suggestion and got this. Better lightning, Better chair, but the flag went weird. Abe is still high contrast but with a bit more black and less brown. I think it's a little better likeness also...

This is a very well-done portrait. I like the flag backdrop. It's hard to tell if the flag represents itself in 1860-65. He had a tough job and it shows.
The face does look more prominent. The flag doesn't bother me, though
