Amadeo de Souza-Cardoso (1887–1918) was a pioneering Portuguese modernist painter whose work blended elements of Cubism, Futurism, and Expressionism, creating a dynamic and highly personal style. Although his career was tragically cut short by the Spanish flu, he left behind a body of work that demonstrated his restless experimentation with color, form, and movement. His paintings often incorporated fragmented forms, bold colors, and rhythmic compositions, showing influences from Parisian avant-garde circles while maintaining a unique and expressive energy.
