There is footage of them playing together on stage about 30 years later. By appearances Jackson Browne seemed to be friendly and inviting and Lindley even after decades seems just fed up with Browne. They played a few live shows together. I saw one and musically they are magic together. Browne hired a contemporary of Lindley's for some tours in the last decade or so...that guy is almost as good and can play Lindley's style to perfection.  

The slide guitar closing of "Hold on Hold Out" by Jackson Browne..gives me chills, one of the last moments as band members..
