The Call of the Void

The designs are based on a combination of traditional Ndebele art plus elements of graffiti that the local people have suggested. Day by day, the cold, harshness of the stark concrete is being rejuvenated by a myriad of colourful paints. The local people raised thousands of pounds to fly the Ndebele women over from South Africa, pay for their accommodation, food and creative genius. The paints were provided free of charge by a mystery benefactor with a keen interest in the art and history of the Ndebele tribe.

This vibrant mural, blending traditional Ndebele art with graffiti elements, transforms a London concrete tower block into a colorful masterpiece, reflecting the city's cultural diversity and community spirit.
