With the Rebellion now "The New Republic", there are still many planets left under tyranny of one kind or another. But while trying to consolidate their power and avoid angering too many possible allies, and with resources spread too thin so soon after the war, the Republic refuses to be too hasty in helping many of the planets. That's where Nalissara and her Falcrest Federation comes in. Somewhat considered privateers, the Republic officially disavows all knowledge of their actions or existence, giving Nalissara and her freedom fighters the freedom to do what is necessary to help the oppressed and downtrodden, and exact recompense on the tyrants who enslave them.
