Shields

After my Iron Man suit's challenge performance ended up being disappointing, I dialed the amount of effort I made way back. I'm not big on shields, but there was an attempt.

The rondache was a type of round shield often used in the late Middle Ages. It's 2 to 3 feet in diameter and weighs 2 to 5 pounds. This rondache has a thin layer of metal over its surface against a wood backing, with a thicker metal piece around the rim and a boss in the center; this is a fairly common rondache design. This shield can also cast a brilliant flash of light from the magic gem at the top to blind enemies. Some even say this light is more than physical; it illuminates souls, purges evil energy, and causes wrongdoers to repent.

EDIT: Yet another picture where I missed 5% by a hair. *audible sigh* But as I said, I'm not really invested in shields. If I was, I'd be raging a lot harder at this.
