Ruins of Watuun

Watuun was known as a Bolthole Planet, an extra-legal, out-of-jurisdiction rock at the edge of any civilization that counted's nowhere. The local species was in the equivalent Iron Age when Watuun was discovered. The pirate explorers lost no time making themselves god-kings for a few generations, until the secret got out, and ALL the ne'er-do-wells came to set up shop.

Watuun's local populace has long since mixed out of the place, as it came to be used more and more. Fringe elements or no, Watuun's activity escaped any sort of regulation for centuries, and indeed never belonged to any faction or sect. It was destroyed by the one of the first Shred unifying warlords, as a means to display reach and power. The warlord's name is lost to history, but horde-style conquest was the norm for the Shred until contact with the Portan Civilization.
