Fat is not a bad word. It is a descriptive term like short or blonde or young. Let's stop giving it more power than it actually has.
Between 25-40 I changed a lot. I have always been plus size since before my teens. Everyone on my dad's side is.
Two things drastically changed where I gained a good deal of weight from my mid-twenties until now. One I quit smoking at 25 (I am so glad I did!!). This resulted in my putting on about 10kgs.
Then in my early 30s I got diagnosed with Bipolar 2. The antipsychotics and mood stabilisers caused another jump in weight for me of about 15kgs. I fluctuate a bit but my weight has been really stable for years. I am the size I am and I am ok with that.
I'd rather be fat and stable than skinnier and self destructive.
