She hated days like this. She loved working at the gift shop which was across the street from the beach. But when it rained, business was slow and the days would drag. To make things worse, the store that was normally an icebox, was stuffy and warm because the air was being serviced. She was always dressed warm because the store was always so cold. But today she felt like it was an oven. She had to do something about this for the last half of the day. She stepped outside when it was time for her break. It was hot and sticky and the rain was still coming down. She thought about going to change, but then had a better idea. She looked through the rain to the beach. Perfect she thought. She headed off towards the sea. When she got to the edge, she paused letting the water lap at the toes of her boots. She continued in, wading till the waves were breaking against her.  She was completely soaked and would need to work in her wet jeans and sweater the rest of the day but it was worth it!
