haha, right? anytime I think of advanced/supernatural martial arts or energy abilities, Ryu or some other streetfighter character always come to mind, so I had to do a tribute at some point. 

Karate

One of many characters made famous by the street fighter series, Ryu has his combat origins come from a special version of a martial art called Shotokan Karate. While it differs from the real life version considerably even outside of the supernatural aspects of the in game version, it still holds a foundation in the karate style of martial arts overall.
