Years back when my kids were small, we had a cook woodstove. I loved it. Always had boiling water read for tea, oven always hot to bake something or toss a couple of potatoes in for yummy baked potatoes. And the radiant heat was lovely! Heating with a furnace just creates warm air which isn't really warning and made the air so dry. If I felt the walls,they'd still feeling cold. From a wood stove, the house felt warm and the warmth penetrated into everything. I still miss it a lot.
