Kilwall Crest had once been a powerful kingdom that flourished in the medieval era. Skilled warriors, wise rulers & advanced magical practices were the norm there & the kingdom lasted for many centuries. 

The Empryn Pillar was constructed by their most skilled architects & craftsmen. It wasn't just a symbol of Kilwall's might but also a focal point of its magical energies since it was centered over a large cavern of crystals. Some even suggested a time portal existed there but never a word written was found.

The end of Kilwall Crest was caused by a malevolence that fell upon them & could not be detered. The influx of dark magic rose causing the last of the white mages to hide the crystal caverns from its influence.

The Pillar stands today as a relic of a bygone era. Adventurers & scholars alike seek to find the cavern believing that the power still exists and it just needs to be reawakened.
