Anxiously uneased

Once the Saterians and Ascended returned to the Sacred Halls, an Oracle stood at the gate, breathless and wide-eyed. “While you were on the frontlines,” she stammered, “a great light tore through the skies. It was no star. A being... I’ve never felt such presence—it walked into the city unchallenged. It's waiting in the Council Halls for the Priem.” The Priem narrowed her eyes, her gaze drifting to Aurevalis. Did something—or someone—follow her through? The thought hadn’t even settled when Aurevalis responded, her voice a silken echo in her mind: “The Nexus Rift contains only a single thought at any given time. So no... nothing followed as you say.” But her hesitation—brief, almost imperceptible—left the Priem uneasy. What, then, had arrived... and why had it come now?
