A bunny chow is a curry served in a hollowed-out half-loaf of bread, usually with a side salad. One theory of how the name came to be suggests that "bunny" is a corruption of the word "bania" (referring to Indian traders), with chow referring to food -- so literally "food from the Indian corner shop". Various stories suggest that restaurants would serve curry out of the back door to black people in a half-loaf of bread instead of a plate, so no cutlery or crockery to return.
No visit to Durban is complete without a bunny chow for lunch. (From my response to a comment below)

Hey that’s amazing. The idea of a curry in a half loaf of bread! Wonderful

Instantly recognisable as Sea Point Promenade, taken from the pool (especially the building style although these are a little taller). I once lived for 7 years in a Penthouse (7th floor) that would geographically be the building roughly in position between his 2 ears, we had a 180 degree Sea-view with a balcony that wrapped around the sea-facing bay window and a sunset in the lounge every night. Built in the early 50s with a Marine-Art Deco style and some porthole windows it was like living aboard a ship
