A sound like thunder rolled across the heavens, and from the broken seal emerged a black horse. Its rider was cloaked in darkness, covered in black robes that billowed as he rode forward. In his hands, he held a pair of scales, the delicate balance of justice and inequity held firmly between his fingers.

The rider’s face was hidden beneath the shadow of his hood, but his presence radiated a cold, oppressive power—the power of famine. His very appearance brought a chill to the air, as though the life was being drained from the world. The Black Horseman had come to bring hunger, scarcity, and economic ruin.

As the rider lifted the scales, a voice echoed from the heavens, its tone calm but filled with the weight of divine judgment.

**“A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not harm the oil and the wine.”**

Daniel’s heart sank as the words reverberated through his soul. He understood their meaning—famine was upon the world, but it was not a famine that would touch everyone equally. The poor would suffer, paying exorbitant prices for the barest essentials—wheat and barley—while the wealthy, those who had insulated themselves from the world’s suffering, would continue to enjoy their luxuries—oil and wine, untouched by the chaos.

The rider of the black horse gazed down upon the world, his scales tipping ever so slightly as if deciding the fates of nations. The message was clear: famine would be widespread, but inequality would reign. The rich would grow richer, while the poor starved.

And then, just as before, the vision began to fade. The horseman’s dark robes disappeared into the light, the sound of his hooves growing distant until the vision was gone.

Daniel gasped, his body shaking as the weight of the vision settled over him. His eyes scanned the faces of the group around him, his mind racing as he tried to process what he had just seen. He had seen the signs before—the White Horseman of conquest, the Red Horseman of bloodshed—and now, the Black Horseman of famine had been unleashed.

But it wasn’t just famine—it was a cruel imbalance, one that would make survival even harder for people like them.

_July 28th, 2060 — Outside New Los Angeles, Safehouse_

The air inside the safehouse was stale and heavy, the faint smell of sweat and fear lingering in the dimly lit room. The small group of Christians sat in uneasy silence, the tension thick in the air. They had been hiding for days, dodging marauders and NGF patrols, trying to survive in a world that seemed to be closing in on them from every direction.

But Daniel Harper felt something else now. Something darker, more foreboding, was about to come upon the world. He had seen the First Seal break—the rider of conquest. He had witnessed the Second Seal, unleashing war and bloodshed upon the earth. But this time, the sense of impending doom felt even heavier.

He could feel it in his bones—the Third Seal was about to be broken.
