This is representative of what happened just after my tonsillectomy when I was 16 years old.
I had seen the Halloween movie where Michael Myers attacked people in a hospital. I was scared to death that he was going to get me, too.
My then-boyfriend, now my husband of 40 years, was waiting in my hospital room for them to bring me back after the surgery. I started yelling, “Michael!” as they were wheeling me out of recovery to my hospital room. They kept trying to comfort me, telling me that Michael was waiting for me in my room.
The only problem there was that my boyfriend’s name was David.
