Motivation nothing. They're just waiting for the crafties to return the screwdriver they borrowed from the key grip's toolbox to get that jaw released. For want of a screwdriver, a day's shooting was lost.
When you say "the other guy is a key grip" are you referring to the fellow on the right? In which case I would seriously consider firing the staff at HR.
What is his motivation? To eat the key grip? Or maybe the leading lady who's also a lizard but much smaller and wearing a tiara? The tiara helps us to identify her as a "lady" lizard (though she belches and farts more than any lumberjack ever did).
