Jay and the Wolves

The glow in Jay's eyes melted away, and she landed next to Eero softly. All the werewolves there looked at her and bowed with soft whimpers. They fell to their knees, still bowing till their faces touched the ground.

"Hey..." Jay said, surprised and touched by their show of reverence. "As I said, I want to be friends. And I want to help you."

They all raised their heads, gazing up at her with their big dark eyes, red as if they had been crying.

Jay went among them, taking their hands and having them stand. She healed their wounds with a gentle touch. The werewolves did not say anything, but still made soft wolf sounds.

Eero watched them thoughtfully. When Jay returned to his side, he turned to her with a small smile.

"They have named you the New Moon. Their savior who has given them a new life."

Jay smiled back. "I'm glad I could help."
