He walks the beach, empty, until he sees it: the heart they made together in the sand. Faded, but not gone. Inside, three words: I love you.

He drops to his knees. The breath leaves his body. Because this is what he lost. This is what he couldn't hold on to.

And for the first time, he doesn’t try to wake up.

The camera pulls back. The waves roll in. The shell glows.

Then, just before the black—

A small hand reaches into frame and picks up the shell.
