Elin awoke chained in humid heat. Salt and rust clung to the air. Guards rotated with military precision.
Saïd studied her calmly. Saïd: “Alive, you bend nations. Dead… forgotten.”
One lieutenant pressed: “Better to kill her now.” Saïd silenced him with a glance. Saïd: “Alive, she changes everything.”
