The team woke up the next morning and after breakfast (and prayer time for Sister Helena), they geared up in their uniforms, grabbed their weapons and left the monastery. Fairbairn had gone ahead to speak to Edward about their situation. He agreed that the team would be better off with a cart and he and Fairbairn prepared the horses and the cart. When all was ready Fairbairn brought the cart around to the outside of the stables. Larkin sat next to Fairbairn in “shotgun” while Helena and Bjornson sat in the bed of the cart. Fairbairn cracked the reins and the team was on their way. The horses went into a trot and a walk as they traversed the rough Eversham terrain. At 0930, SG-24 arrived at the Stargate. Godrick, who was guarding the Gate, saw Larkin and waved them and signaled to his soldiers to hold their fire. Larkin acknowledged Godrick.

“Fairbairn, dial it up,” Larkin said as they approached the DHD.”
“Aye, sir,” Fairbairn replied as she dialed Eirth. She inputted the symbols for earth and pushed the big red button on the center of the DHD. The Stargate let out a two tone chirp and then kawooshed. Fairbairn joined her the teammates next to the camera on the MALP. Larkin input the code on his GDO.
“Stargate Command, this is SG-24 do you read? Stargate Command this is SG-24, come in please.”
“This is Stargate Command. We read you,” came the reply in a familiar Australian accent.
“Cate!” Larkin exclaimed. “Did Sam finally promote you to Air Vice Marshall?”
“Marcus, you old scallywag! No, silly! I'm still a Wing Commander. SG-4 is taking a little R&R after our recent mission.”
“Cate, is Sam there?”
